Shona is an exceptionally kind and compassionate vet and acupuncturist. She is patient and gentle and always displays a genuine level of care and interest towards her patients. Sam, my 12 yr old Golden Retriever is always delighted to see Shona and immediately relaxes in her company. He finds the acupuncture sessions very calming and often falls asleep within a few minutes!
Sam can sometimes be a little sleepy for a few hours following a session but he definitely feels the benefits of having acupuncture on a regular basis and is once again enjoying his daily walks. If you are considering acupuncture for your pet I would highly recommend Shona.

My border Collie had pulled his cruciate ligament after jumping for his frisbee. I contacted Shona to see if she could help get him get back on his feet. "We have a 7 year old pedigree Springer Spaniel, Alfie, who has been demonstrating signs of having back pain and arthritis in his back legs for a couple of years. Sometimes, especially in the mornings, his lower back is very stiff and he can struggle to get up and get going.
Shona has been treating him with acupuncture since theses symptoms have been manifesting. During the treatment Alfie appears very relaxed and, although he can still be quite stiff the next day, within 24 hours he is always much better. This is evident in his ability to get up at the start of the day, in how he voluntarily comes upstairs again, in how he can jump up into the back of the car, and in his manner in general.
